Dear SDMS Members,
April is National Volunteer Month. Please join me in recognizing and celebrating the efforts of the SDMS volunteers who dedicate their time, skills, and resources to making an impact on sonography.
The leadership and insight displayed by our elected volunteers, the
SDMS Board of Directors,
Finance Committee, and
Nominating Committee, is instrumental in driving forward our mission. As we continue to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare and the sonography profession, their role as torchbearers of our society has never been more crucial.
Volunteering with the SDMS provides an invaluable opportunity to shape the future of the profession, broaden your perspective, learn from others, and connect with a community of professionals who share your passion for sonography.
Applications are accepted year-round for JDMS Reviewers and call for proposals to speak at SDMS events. Both these opportunities are a great way for those new to volunteering with the SDMS to start their volunteer journey. The Nominating Committee is in the process of slating candidates for the upcoming 2024 election and the next call for nominations for the elected volunteer positions will launch at the beginning of 2025 and the next call for volunteers for the slated positions will launch mid-year 2025 to coincide with the induction of the new SDMS President at the fall SDMS Annual Conference.
On behalf of the SDMS, I extend our heartfelt thanks to all the SDMS volunteers. Together, we are not just shaping the present but also forging the path for future generations of diagnostic medical sonographers.
Sincerely,
Mitzi Roberts, EdD, RT(R), RDMS, RDCS, FSDMS
SDMS and SDMS Foundation President
