    Aubrey Rybyinski

    Dear SDMS Members,

The work you do every day as a sonographer is essential to patient care, to your team, and to healthcare as a whole. It is also demanding work, both physically and mentally. At SDMS, we believe that supporting sonographers means not only advancing education and professional standards, but also advocating for sustainable workloads, healthy work environments, and long-term well-being.

That belief is reflected in the release of the SDMS Workload & Well-Being Toolkit, a new resource developed specifically to support you as a sonographer. This toolkit is comprised of practical, easy-to-use checklists designed to promote constructive conversations, inform thoughtful policies, and encourage actionable practices that reduce burnout, support sustainable workloads, and improve working conditions across practice settings.

Importantly, access to the Workload & Well-Being Toolkit is an exclusive SDMS member benefit and is not available for purchase by non-members. This reflects our commitment to ensuring that SDMS membership delivers meaningful, tangible value.

The toolkit is intentionally designed to be flexible and usable by sonographers, supervisors, and department leaders alike. Whether you are advocating for change, evaluating staffing and scheduling practices, or working to improve workflows and examination expectations, these checklists are meant to support informed discussions and thoughtful decision-making.

Supporting sonographers has always been central to SDMS’s mission. The Workload & Well-Being Toolkit is another example of how we continue to advocate for you and respond to the real challenges facing the sonographer profession.

Thank you for the important work you do every day and for being part of the professional society that is dedicated to supporting you throughout your career.

    Sincerely,

Aubrey Rybyinski, BS, RDMS, RVT, FSDMS, FAIUM
    SDMS and SDMS Foundation President
