Stephanie Ellingson, MS, RDMS, RDCS, RVT, RT(R), treasurer of the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, is the program director of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at the University of Iowa. She has 33 years of experience in sonography as a clinical sonographer and educator and has been a SDMS member for all her career. Stephanie has served on the SDMS Board of Directors three times. Her other volunteer work includes being a site visitor for the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, serving on the editorial board for the
Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, acting as an item writer for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, as well as volunteering in numerous local positions.
Stephanie earned her master’s degree in education from California State University. She works closely with clinical department managers to ensure the program curriculum meets their needs. Stephanie is passionate about moving the sonography profession forward through communication and collaboration with partners in the healthcare community.
