Angela Butwin
MS, RT(R), RDMS (OB/Gyn, FE, AB)

Angela has over 15 years of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. She is a graduate of the Radiography and Sonography programs in the Division of Radiologic Sciences & Therapy at The Ohio State University. During her undergraduate studies, she developed a passion for Women’s Health, and began working as a Sonographer in the Maternal Fetal Medicine department at OSU in 2009. She additionally completed her Masters of Science Health & Rehabilitation Sciences Education, and began her role as Clinical Coordinator and Instructor Practice in the Radiologic Sciences & Therapy Division at OSU in 2015, where she later served as Sonography Program Director.

After focusing on educating students in the Radiologic Science programs at OSU for several years, she decided to merge her love of teaching and clinical work. Currently, Angela serves in a dual role as a Sonographer in Women’s Imaging at the OSU Wexner Medical Center, and Training Coordinator for the OSU Radiologic Sciences & Therapy Division. This has allowed her to provide high level imaging in OB/Gyn and Fetal Echocardiography, participate in Quality Assurance & Education activities and Sonography research protocols for the Maternal Fetal Medicine Division, while simultaneously providing didactic coursework, clinical training, and research mentoring to students in the Sonography and Radiography programs at OSU.

Angela has served as a JDMS Associate Editor, specializing in Women’s Health content, since 2016. She has multiple research publications, including journal articles, symposia, and a textbook chapter. She has provided Sonography focused lectures at both the local and national level. For her, it has been an honor to use technical and clinical skills developed throughout her career to help provide quality content for a publication she has used as a professional resource since she was a student. She is grateful for the opportunities that she has been given, both throughout her career at OSU and participation in the SDMS, to continue learning and improving as a Sonographer.
