Kevin D. Evans

Kevin D. Evans is a professor emeritus, within The Ohio State University’s College of Medicine and School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. As a researcher, he continues to support the department of Radiologic Sciences/Respiratory Therapy. Kevin has extensive clinical practice experience, having managed and worked as a sonographer, vascular technologist, radiographer, and as an academic administrator, for over 30 years. He is the director of the Laboratory for Investigatory Imaging, which was established in 2005 to conduct original research. The lab and staff specialize in image analysis, simulation, and cardiovascular research due to continuous extramural funding from federal, state, private foundations, and commercial contracts.
Kevin is the current editor-in-chief of the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. He has also served as the chair of both the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and the ARDMS Breast Foundation. He is a past president of the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) and the SDMS Educational Foundation. Kevin is an active journal reviewer for the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, American Journal of Health Behavior, and Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology. He has over 200 publications, including journal articles, abstracts, multiple textbook chapters, and his own textbook. Kevin was the 2019 recipient of the Distinguished Sonographer Award, presented by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
