SDMS News Wave - August 2008 Issue Now Available Online

  • Easy to navigate – click the ‘page curls’ at the bottom of page to ‘flip’ to the next or previous page
  • Full-color – we can now include color photos and sonographic images
  • Easy to search (search the current issue or use the website’s search feature to search across all issues)

New 2007 SDMS Annual Conference Lecture available online - Free CME for SDMS Members!

The Future of Sonography
Dan Merton, BS, RDMS, FSDMS, FAIUM

Medical sonography has always been technology-driven, with advances in instrumentation leading to ever-expanding clinical applications and diagnostic effectiveness. Dramatic changes in technology have led to smaller and more powerful systems that are generally easier and more economical to use. Ultrasound technology is also being used increasingly to guide, monitor and assess treatment. These advances will continue to change how, where and by whom sonography is practiced. This presentation highlights some of the most important emerging technological advances in medical sonography and examine the implications for the use of the modality by sonography professionals, as well as practitioners in other medical disciplines.

NOTE: Attendees at this lecture in Las Vegas are NOT eligible to receive CME credit for this activity.

To view the presentation, you will need a computer with speakers or headphones, Internet access, a web browser with Adobe Flash Player (and Adobe Reader 8.0 or later to view the transcript) installed.

A tutorial on using the online presentation interface available at: http://www.sdms.org/seminar/tutorial/tutorial.htm
